Date of foundation

February 18, 1943

Initial designation

Experimental plant ¹ 300.

Mission

By means of improving the current MES and creating essentially new innovative solutions, to open new possibilities for mankind in aviation and power engineering, to promote development of intellectual potential of Russia, to provide qualitative improvement of life of the present and future generations.

Goals and objectives

  • Corrective maintenance of engines R95-300 and other works to extend the service life of engines of the R95-300 family under the State defense order.
  • Creation of gas-turbine unit GTE-30-300 with electric power of 30 megawatt on the basis of engine R79V-300 is carried out within the framework of the Complex Program of Industrial Activity in Moscow.
  • Design of gas-turbine unit on the basis of engines R95-300: GTE -0,25-300 with electric power of 250 kilowatt and GTE -0,5-300 with electric power of 585 kilowatt. It is realized on the basis of cogeneration cycle.

Achievements

Within the period of 65 years of its operational activity AMNTK Soyuz has created 18 basic turbojet engines and 44 their modifications for 27 aircraft with a wide range of data for both civil and military aviation. The aircraft equipped with these engines have established more than 100 world records. There is a huge positive experience in designing of engines for planes and cruise missiles. Pioneer and the best in the world engines at the moment of their creation were:

  • ÀÌ-3 — engine for long-range bomber Òó-16, strategic bomber Ì-4, the first national jet passenger plane Tu-104, the most powerful engine in the world at that time;
  • ÀÌ-5 - engine for all-weather high-altitude fighter-interceptor Yak-25 which had the least specific gravity among the aircraft in the world;
  • RD-9B — engine for the first national serial supersonic fighter MiG-19 which became the first national engine with afterburner;
  • R11-300 - engine for fighter MiG -21 which became the first national two-shaft turbojet engine;
  • R15B-300 - engine for fighter-interceptor MiG -25;
  • KR7-30G - engine for anti-ship supersonic low-flying cruise missile which was the first engine of such class in the country;
  • R27V-300 - The first national vectored-thrust engine for the first national VTOL aircraft;
  • R95-300 - The first national low-sized turbojet engine for subsonic cruise missiles
  • R79V-300 - vectored-thrust engine for the first-ever supersonic VTOL interceptor.

The basis of all designs of the AMNTK Soyuz has always been the huge work to choose the scheme and parameters of the engines, new engineering solutions, innovative technologies, experimental works and, the most important thing, scientific and technical personnel, specific school and a wide experience.

Scientific and technical and labor activity of the AMNTK Soyuz collective is marked by the orders of Lenin and the Labor Red Banner. Three employees of the enterprise have been honored with the ranks of the Hero of Socialist Labor, 10 - winners of the Lenin Award, 12 - winners of the State Award. Among scientific and technical workers of the enterprise there are 3 Academicians, 1 - Corresponding member (subsequently Academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 16 DPhils and more than 50 candidates of sciences.
